ESN understands the importance of having a low environmental impact so when it comes to events and stands, we are committed to eco-design principles. We comply with all relevant environmental, health and safety laws and we try to reduce the carbon footprint of our events business.
Our commitment
For each event project we assess the most sustainable options. We advise our customers about environmentally friendly alternatives at the time of putting together an event/stand. How?
CAREFULLY CHOOSING THE VENUE:
We carefully choose event sites to reduce CO2 emissions, both in terms of transport and buildings.
TAKING AN ENVIRONMENTAL APPROACH TO DÉCOR AND FURNITURE:
We eco-design the décor and furniture to reduce their impact on the environment. Examples include the carton eco-furniture. We use LED lighting and screens, and recyclable carpet tiles instead of rolls of carpet.
REUSING AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE:
We use customisable layouts, removable signage with no dates, and badges that we retrieve at the end of the event in order to reuse them.
THINKING ABOUT RECYCLING FROM THE START:
We think about the end-of-life strategy for materials used in our products and choose environmentally friendly materials, such as aluminum structures that are light, easy to assemble and can be recycled.
THINKING LOCAL:
We prioritise environmentally responsible catering with local and seasonal products. ESN is part of an international event logistics network which means we hire the necessary equipment and assembly/disassembly teams locally. This saves time and cuts CO2 emissions from transport.
MANAGING WASTE:
We are increasingly encouraging the use of touchscreens to avoid printed posters and paper programmes. If paper is necessary or requested, we produce only what is needed (choosing recycled paper, optimal paper density, printing on both sides, vegetable based or solvent-free inks, optimal number of copies, etc.). We sort waste during production and on-site.
PROMOTING ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE TRANSPORT:
We inform customers and visitors of public transport options. We prioritise train travel over flying whenever possible. If transport is essential, we investigate offsetting CO2 with specialist agencies.
INTERNAL COMMUNICATION:
We regularly inform our teams about environmental issues. At the end of an event, we debrief and draw up a report to help with the continual improvement of our products and services.
