Since 2012, ESN’s IT and content development specialists have updated and maintained DG Move’s awareness-raising road safety website. While EU roads are the safest in the world, the number of deaths and injuries is still far too high.
ESN is in charge of daily updates, web mastering and graphic design activities, as well as creating new pages and updating existing ones. We also produce and publish the DG’s road safety newsletter on the newsroom platform. Thanks to ESN, the website was made fully responsive and user-friendly by optimising its design and code for all mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets.
Our team is responsible for the continuous development of the interactive Going Abroad web app, which was made compatible with the App Store, Google Play and the Windows Phone Store. Travellers can use it to look up traffic rules across the EU – and play some fun games.
ESN also designed a Road Safety Days event app to keep the public informed and updated about DG MOVE’s main events: the European Day Without a Road Death and related Project EDWARD campaigns. The objective is to have all road users think – even for just a few minutes – about the risks they face, the risks they may pose to others and how they can go about reducing those risks. The app helps governments, organisations, schools and the public organise Road Safety Days across Europe.
