GEO is a unique global network connecting government institutions, academic and research institutions, data providers, businesses, engineers, scientists and experts to create innovative solutions to global challenges at a time of exponential data growth, human development and climate change that transcend national and disciplinary boundaries. This global collaboration of experts helps to identify gaps and reduce duplication in sustainable development and sound environmental management.
Together, the GEO community is creating a Global Earth Observation System of Systems (GEOSS) to better integrate observing systems and share data by connecting existing infrastructures using common standards. Each year, the Group on Earth Observations community gathers for a global event entitled ‘GEO Week’, which attracts over 500 participants. In 2017, this took place in Washington, in 2018, in Kyoto, and in 2019, in Canberra.
ESN supported DG RTD’s attendance at all these high-profile events by providing stands, touch-screen applications, video material, roll-ups, panels, visuals and other promotional materials. Our team was also on-site to coordinate the building process and to provide technical supervision.
